This holiday season we bring together six unique faces for the celebration we’re all hoping we can have. Scouted through a social media casting call, they all have fearless self-expression in common. Sharing their personal take on beauty and the festive season for a spot in the campaign, each individual has a compelling story to tell…

Writer and vintage homeware trader Becky (@beckyboyce) doesn’t believe in half measures - she lives life to the fullest. Turning 40 next year, her outlook seems almost rebellious - she can’t wait to see what the next decade brings and is ready to approach with gusto (in her signature red lipstick).

I entered the Find Me Unique competition because…

We all have a unique look and that should be celebrated. Thankfully, the traditional ideas about what or who is considered beautiful are being challenged, and I’m here for that!

For me, unique beauty is about...

Letting your character shine through (as cheesy as that sounds). So for me it’s about embracing yourself and every facial expression or quirk - nothing is more unique than your own cheeky smile, sarky raised eyebrow or little twinkle in your eye. It’s what makes you, you, no matter what make-up you’re wearing.

I embrace my unique look because...

I’ve always felt quite comfortable in my own skin and at ease with the way I look. I grew up in the era of nineties supermodels, and realised quite early on in my teens I was no Claudia Schiffer, but hey, not many of us are! Hopefully by embracing who I am, my look will always be unique and authentically me.

If I could speak to my younger self…

Well, I would probably say don’t get too hung up on supermodels or take beauty advice in magazines too seriously. We’re all different and one look does not suit all.

My favourite words to live by…

I’ve always been a fan of Elizabeth’s Taylor quote, ‘Pour yourself a drink, put on some lipstick and pull yourself together’. I think that’s pretty good advice if you’re ever feeling down in the dumps. And of course, the font of all wisdom, Dolly Parton’s, ‘The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you’ve gotta put up with the rain’.

My go-to beauty products right now...

I literally never leave the house without lipstick and Laura Mercier ones are usually my favourites. I’ve massively got into the La Roche-Posay Vitamin C Serum for a bit of natural glow. I’m also a big fan of body oils and really love the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse.

My best beauty tip is...

Keep skin fresh and let the lipstick do the talking - and add a bit of glitter when required.

Christmas is...

Always quite a dressy affair in the Boyce household. Until after lunch that is, when the glitter has gone a bit awry and the heels are kicked off in favour of novelty slippers. There probably isn’t anything hugely unique about it really, it’s just lovely to be with family, eating, drinking and being merry - with an ever-so-slightly grumpy dad on hand to bring us back down to earth, of course.

Top of my Christmas list this year is…

In my dreams, a pink Murano glass chandelier. More realistically, I’ve always fancied one of those boujie beauty advent calendars - hopefully one day someone will gift me one.

In 2022, I’m most looking forward to...

Turning 40. Even though that’s a bloody petrifying thought, it’s also really exciting to have reached such a milestone point in my life. Lots of my friends are also turning 40, so it’s going to be a very fun year - I’m sure it will be worth every single hangover...
