With spring just around the corner (we’re not so patiently waiting for those lighter evenings), we’ve been on the hunt for some new makeup inspo. As luck would have it, we got to spend some time with KVD makeup pros, Evie Bonney and Deborah Coffi, on our #LoveYourUnique shoot, where they showed us their unique takes on the spring trends, and gave us tips on how to achieve them.

Over to the pros…

Graphic eyeliner is the subtle-yet-not-so-subtle way to spice up your look and we’re obsessed with the green eyeliner.

“A bright floating liner is a fun and effective way to bring colour into your everyday makeup look. I suggest using a lightly coloured eye pencil to softly etch out your desired liner shape, using your eyelid crease as a guide - you want your liner to be just above your crease. Then go over your outline with your liquid liner/pomade of choice - I’ve used KVD Beauty’s Super Pomade Vegan Eyeliner.
I love a subtle pop of colour along the lash line paired with fresh, glowing skin. It just screams spring! Looking down into a mirror, draw a thin line across your upper lash line - the trick is to draw bit by bit. For a bolder look, you can alway opt for a thicker line or extend out for a wing."

As soon as Pantone announced that Very Peri was their 2022 colour of the year, the first thing we wanted to do was put a similar shade on our eyelids

“For a perfect blown-out eye look, the trick is to build colour up slowly and blend…a lot! Using a fluffy brush, place your shadow or pigment onto your eyelids and gently buff up past your crease and towards your brow in a back and forth or circular motion. Do the same for underneath your eye, buffing back and forth under your lash line. Then go in and press more colour on to your eyelids for more intensity, blending where needed. And there you go, a soft and diffused blown-out eye! I used KVD Beauty Super Pomade in shades, Roxy Purple and White Out.”

When it comes to lips, it’s gold bold or go home. Not sure what stand-out shade to go for? Deborah has the tips…

“When doing a bold lip, why not reverse contour with a concealer (I recommend KDV Beauty’s new Good Apple concealer) that matches your complexion to really carve out the lip for a strong pout? Bold lips are great paired with minimal eye makeup for an effortless statement. Perfect the skin, groom the brows, sculpt the face, add some blush and you’re all set!"

When it comes to choosing the perfect shade, cast your mind to the colour theory and explore complementary shades. If you’ve got blue eyes, try an orange. Green eyes? Go for red. If you’ve got brown eyes, the berry shades were made for you.
