The highest-strength retinoid formula with stabilized retinaldehyde for advanced age support, optimal for nighttime use. Retinal 0.2% Emulsion is a very high strength retinoid formula that rapidly firms and smooths skin, while noticeably reducing the appearance of dark spots. It helps refine skin texture, while targeting uneven tone and boosting luminosity for brighter, more even-looking skin.
The serum-textured formula is suitable for all skin types, and is recommended for experienced users of retinoids. If you are new to using retinoids, we recommend exploring the Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion, or the Retinol 0.2% in Squalane, and progressing to higher strengths as your skin builds tolerance.

Retinal 0.2% Emulsion also contains synthetic oat analogues (specifically avenanthramide - a key beneficial component found in oats). This ingredient is known to help target skin discomfort and dryness, which are common concerns associated with retinoid use.
The bright yellow hue of the formula comes from the high concentration of retinal, which is naturally yellow. This may leave some residual colour on skin and light coloured fabrics, which can be minimised by allowing the product to fully absorb, and skin to dry before making contact with light-coloured fabrics. This residual colour can be removed by washing skin with water, and washing fabrics with your regular detergent according to their care instructions.

Directions
Apply a pea-sized amount to clean, dry face and neck in the evening. Avoid the eye contour and contact with eyes. Start with a weekly application and gradually increase to twice a week, a few days apart, as tolerated by your skin. Apply a moisturizer afterwards. Do not use with other retinoid products. Use sun protection during the day.

Great product with great results
I have been using this for almost a year now. Prior to this product I used Neutrogena and then Sunday Riley high-dose retinol. This retinal emulsion has worked better than either product. Kind of to be expected since this is retinal, but still. My skin feels and looks better. I receive compliments that I look younger (31 yr male) than I am, and I haven’t gotten that before. Yes this tints your skin slightly yellow and yes it is drying, especially if your skin isn’t used to this. High dose and retinal products are yellow, and a good moisturizer will do the trick. This product is great, especially at this price.

Lovely formula, larger container, please!
This is very a good product, especially given retinal (that’s retinaldehyde, not retinol) products are hard to find and pricey. Blends into skin really well, not too heavy, can use serums beforehand and a moisturizer afterward.
My only complaint is the size—PLEASE DECIEM, put it in at least a 30 mL container, like practically every other product you sell! It’s such a waste with the small container! Thanks!

Nice product, not for me
It feels really light and airy, rubs in well, but I haven't noticed any results and it doesn't have that tingly feel that retinoids often bring. Maybe suited best for sensitive skin types. I like the pump style bottle.

Disappointed
I'm not happy with this. Recently picked up and one issue is the pump. The stuff will not come out. I've pulled cap off and occasionally it will work but mostly not. Feels like a waste cause it's new but I'll never know if it was any good or not

Winner!
This is the only retinol product I've ever tried that actually produces an effect on me (and I've tried a lot of them, including all of The Ordinary variations). I really like the cream formulation, even though my skin is oily, and the pump dispenses just the right amount for one application over my entire face/neck. My one nitpick is that every pump is like playing Russian roulette: will this be the last pump? How much is left?

Doesn’t sting, no redness
I bought this to try and keep my smaller wrinkles from becoming bigger ones, I have tried AHA, BHA and retinol before but this one is much easier to use because it’s yellow and you know exactly where you have put it on your face, it doesn’t sting , the exfoliation is good and there is no pilling when moisturizer is massaged in over it. I haven’t really seen any difference in my wrinkle size, but I have only used it for a week.
