Alice (She/Her)

Keeps her blonde looking bright with Kérastase and Pureology

When we don’t see Alice’s blonde hair lighting up our office, we know it’s going to be a dull day. Senior Graphic Designer and expert illustrator, she knows a thing or two about what it takes to look good - something her childhood self might not agree with. Like many of us, she sported a wonky fringe, Mum edition as a child. Seeing her hair as a security blanket, a safety net, Alice it’s an extension of her identity. No wonder her hair story is so effortless.

Darleane (She/Her)

Embraces her every mood with
Curlsmith and Boucleme

The moment Data Engineer, Darleane sits down to share her hair story, we just know it’s going to be a good one. And when she recounts her memories of wash days to us, she proves us right. Described as being filled with tears and tantrums, every moment has led up to her current chapter: where her hair is a core part of her identity. As something that changes how she looks and feels with each style, Darleane goes from afro to braids to straight to suit every version of herself - naming her silk bonnet as her beauty sleep essential. With her hair as her number one form of expression, her hair story is never ending, and full of surprises.

Lana (She/Her)

Creates her love story with Briogeo and Mielle Organics

For Junior Graphic Designer, Lana, her hair story comes from the heart. Speaking of her earliest hair memories with her Mum, she remembers reading books about afro hair that her Grandma would send her all the way from the Caribbean. A form of connection to her family, this was where Lana saw people who looked just like her in books, so it’s no surprise that her hair is such a celebration. A celebration of its natural texture, a celebration of her identity, Lana’s hair story is a love story. And some of the best supporting characters? Deep conditioner, her sleep bonnet and a diffuser.

Reena (She/Her)

Learns to love her Psoriasis with VIRTUE and Philip Kingsley

It takes only seconds for us all to notice the glossy sheen of Reena’s hair when she sits down to share her story. Silky, waved and oh-so long, we aren’t surprised to learn that the Beauty Advisor and Makeup Arist’s hair is a big part of her character. Portraying who she is with each flick, it does the talking when she’s opted for natural makeup, and no matter what she wears. Beginning at boarding school in India, Reena’s hair was oiled and pampered from root to tip, but the turning point in her story? Developing Psoriasis. A result of her self-proclaimed over analytical mind, the condition of her scalp shifts along with her mood - and her hair story is learning to love it.

Tess (She/Her)

Going all out for grey with Redken and L’Oreal Professionel

When Tess tells us about the moment she cut her blonde ringlets off at age 3, we can’t help but laugh. Unapologetically herself, our Head of Photography, Tess sees her short style as a celebration of her queerness. But with her hair story embracing the grey, there are two characters making hers unique. Greying all out in her twenties, we can’t imagine Tess without her icy wave. And when it comes to how she feels about herself, we know just how important her hair is when it comes to expression.

Victoria (She/Her)

Is turning haircare into self-care with JVN Hair and Redken

Think you may have seen Victoria’s curly tresses somewhere before? Then you’d be correct, Senior Social Executive and star of our Express All Of You campaign, her hair story is all about education and self-appreciation - and we’re here for it. Her hair speaks for her, and Victoria can rely on hers as her key form of expression - especially when her makeup isn’t on. Someone who’s hair is a defining feature of her ever authentic self, she’s come a long way from attempting to shave off her sideburns as a kid. Now embracing the pieces that frame her face, haircare has become a form of self-care. Dedicating Sundays to scalp oiling turns a good hair day into a great hair week, and we’re following suit.
